Fed: Downer's electorate concerned about interest rate rises

ALEXANDER DOWNER says people in his South Australian electorate are concerned about
rising interest rates and the price of petrol.

The foreign minister says young home buyers in particular .. weren't happy to see rates
go up last week .. for the third time since the last election.

But he says the people of Mayo aren't naive .. and don't believe that making KIM BEAZLEY
prime minister would solve their problems.
