Cindy Rarick was beginning to wonder if all those birdies were worth it.
Although she ranks sixth in birdies on the LPGA Tour, Rarick is only 40th in earnings.
"That's not the way it should be," she said.
The reason is too many bogeys. But Saturday she had only one bogey and rattled off six birdies for a 5-under-par 66 to surge from seven strokes behind into a share of the third-round lead in the $500,000 Stratton Mountain Classic.
She is tied with Dottie Mochrie at 209, and if she can keep her bogeys at bay today, another birdie run could be worth the $75,000 first prize.
